Does art have a capacity to resist?
Can it resist the violence of states, can it resist war, can it resist injustice, economic plundering and dispossession, ecological degradation?
Can art resist conditions of colonization? And if so, how?
How to understand the specific forms of resistance that artistic practices give space to?
What does art do or undo?
How can forms of making or unmaking affirm, negate, and alter the courses lives take?
Where do the institutions that support art or act as its caretakers stand in these considerations and how do their positions limit or unleash the agencies/potencies the arts, at least theoretically, presage?
These are among the questions that animate the coming into existence of the Communist Museum of Palestine.Return to Documents from Phase I
